Oh, right, I have an LJ. I forget that sometimes.
I feel like I've lost touch with a lot of you guys! Is everyone out there okay? Any need for hugs? Anyone want to talk? I don't know, hahaha.
On my part, my first year at UCLA has gone well so far! I'm managing about a 3.4 average (which isn't great, but coming off of my last semester at Soka...), and loving almost all my classes. (Russian Science Fiction, taught by a famous Russian linguist who was once fired for being BFFs with Boris Pasternak? History of the American Musical, featuring among other things Chess? Yes.) I'm really glad I made the switch, to say the least.
Working food service now, and making decent money doing it! Plus I get free sushi sometimes, which is always a plus.

Thanks to everyone who commented on my last post. I'm not going to try to catch up with the last page or so but thank you to everyone who offered their thoughts.
Right now I'm just feeling... very numb. It's hard to get her off the brain, but I'm trying to distract myself with RP and Sims and other fun things. Still, she keeps popping back up.
I've taken a week off school with teacher permission and will probably spend much of it passed out.

My mother is dead.
At first I was going to just leave that post there but it doesn't feel like enough somehow. This isn't a pity plea or anything like that. It's just... I think I need to say it, to see it in writing, or it won't be real.
The worst part is, yeah, I'm crying, but I still find my thoughts drifting to the stupidest shit and it's like... do I really care enough? Or have I detached myself from reality too much?
She was a wonderful, smart, witty, kind, woman. She and I didn't always get along on everything but more often than not we could just talk and communicate and bond. I'd hear about people fighting with their parents and look at mom and just smile. She would listen to my stupid rants on anime and joke around with me about them and she helped teach me about things and she was my mom.
And now she's dead.
I keep expecting her to call me with "Hah! Just kidding!" but she won't be.

I'm going to missmumumugen as mod, I gotta say. Yeah, I disagreed with the fascism/communism decision thing, but still. He used Maleficent to make posts about papercraft dolls. How is that not awesome.
Also, I got on the list of "best authors in fandom"... but there was also a thread on how people are tired of Lithuania + Poland Vilnius fic. Seeing as I just posted up a fic on the Polish ultimatum (that has no comments, wtf D:), this... worries me a bit.
Meh, whatever. Going to go back to obsessively checking for comments.
