College in 6 days. I am so totally unprepared for this.

I mean, yeah, it'll be awesome and I'll make new friends and learn new cool stuff and GO TO JAPAN, but... I'm used to just being at home and lounging around, you know? And I'm kind of attached to my parents and it'll hurt a lot to not have them with me.

Still, I'm kinda excited. Maybe it'll be fun and awesome. I'm hoping so.

(PS: I'm not sure if I'll be around for a while after I get to college? I'm not even sure when I get my laptop. XD; So if I disappear, that's why.)

Soka University (http://www.soka.edu). It wasn't my first choice, but my first choice rejected me, so! (Srsly, I got into every school I applied to but the one I really wanted.) They're pretty awesome - focus on international relationships, laptops for all, good classes, and a mandatory semester abroad.

The abroad part sounds really damn cool. o_o I go "lol" about Orange County but that's only because I'm so spoiled on Los Angeles.

( I think being rejected by your first choice is some sort of mandatory college experience here XD )

The abroad part is one of the main reasons I went with Soka. And yeah, we're kinda in the suburbs, which sucks but I'll manage. XD It means it's easier to get home!

(Probably. XD)

According to Google Maps, you'll be within SPITTING DISTANCE of MTS and also probably Steve.

TERRIFYING.

i would fairly quickly roadtrip/train/fly/swim (in order of preference) across the continent for that, you should know

i doubt you could swim the entire way

unless you followed a river out to the ocean and then went down to the panama canal before heading back up to california

but that would take a while

I know it seems overwhelming right now but you'll have a blast. You'll miss your folks pretty fierce for the first couple of weeks, but once you get settled in it'll get better.
All the best to you!

Look at it this way. When I left home, I found myself being forced awake at 0330 and being yelled at by men who looked like this:

Drills

Count your blessings.

Have fun, kiddo! We envy you here at Offhand Manor!

Good luck with college! ♥ I hope you'll enjoy it?

You're doing something that I really wish I had done myself. Enjoy every minute! I know you'll miss your parents, but they're not that far away and there's always the phone and internet. Have a BLAST! Can't wait to hear how it goes. Love ya!
