Nethack and boredom

I just recreated the movie "The Blind Samurai" on Nethack using... well... a blindfold and a samurai. Killed my dog quickly. Got to, like, the 5th level down until I needed to find a secret door to get out, and that blind people aren't great at finding secret doors. Starved to death.
...The fact I did this scares me.
